Ideal Cities is my MFA thesis project from 2012. It was awarded a Thesis Graduate Research grant by the Virginia Commonwealth University, presented at the Tasmeem conference in Doha, Qatar and shown at the Anderson gallery in Richmond Virginia in 2012. This project examines the urban environment in terms of planning and the political drives behind it. I photographed different locations turned into a unified simulacra aiming to replace personal life experience with programmed existence. This work takes part in the discourse of urban renewal and the need for inclusive planning.
